Soothe originally began as an on-demand wellness app, but in recent years, began expanding their offerings to facials, hair, nail, makeup, and lash services in select markets. This represented a very small portion of bookings and the company was eager to grow client awareness and overall bookings to align with strategic marketing efforts.

HyreCar: Pivoting from Peer-to-Peer to Business-to-Consumer

In 2014, HyreCar was a simple idea: Connect rideshare drivers with everyday car owners to rent their privately owned vehicles. By the start of 2019, HyreCar was struggling to keep up their supply of vehicles to match the fast growing demand for gig-economy workers looking to rent, so the business decided to pursue fleet owners and rental agencies with multiple cars to quickly increase car supply.

I was part of an ambitious project to redesign our current owner product so that it would provide both an enterprise-grade solution for businesses, while still offering a viable and delightful experience for our established peer-to-peer customers.

Personal Project: National Organization of Women

In an exercise to practice my UX/UI skills, I decided to work on a personal project for a cause that I felt passionately about. As a feminist and politically engaged woman in Los Angeles, I chose to rethink and redesign a responsive website for the National Organization of Woman. This project challenged me to think beyond my personal opinions, to deeply discover real research and have empathy for users beyond myself.

Curation: “Not I, We”

Gavlak Los Angeles is pleased to present, Not I, We, a group exhibition curated by Julie Russo and Lauren Wood featuring artists that identify as women and/or LGBTQ, and feminists that support them. The exhibition will showcase a multitude of mediums including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, knit, ceramic sculpture and installation in an effort to highlight human rights issues and promote equality, compassion, and transparency in both the political and public sphere.
